North Star’s single and double vertical sliders deliver the traditional double-hung appearance with the convenience of easy, spring-balanced movement and tilt-in sashes.
Vertical sliders can be customized for the look of yesteryear with an offset meeting rail although their performance is decidedly modern. Standard Low-e glass, triple weatherstripping and Super Spacer® technology put an end to cold spots and energy wastage.
The sturdy welded frame and sash, and the galvanized steel reinforcements in the sash and mullions of some sizes, provide performance-tested resistance to forced entry.

Casement |

Installed singularly, multiple lite configuration for two or more, and even set flanking a picture window, the North Star casement is a highly versatile style suited to many applications.
Multiple locking points in sizes taller than 22 inches provide stability and superior resistance to forced entry, as does a 3 1/4-inch welded frame and welded sash. Adjust the sash to the perfect angle to catch passing breezes… the casement offers more ventilation area than any other style. Triple weatherstripping, Low-e glass and Super Spacer® technology keep energy bills under control. Extruded aluminum screens are standard. |

Architectural windows are available in a wide range of custom shapes and sizes and will arrive ready to be put – with factory-installed accessories such as brickmould and extensions so the job will go more quickly. Dozens of architectural grill styles are available to enhance the visual impact.
The unique appearance gives up nothing to performance. North Star’s custom and architectural shapes are packed with the same attractive features standard in all North Star windows including Low-e glass and Super-Spacer technology so condensation won’t fog up dramatic views. |

Finish Colors |

North Star colors are not paint but an actual PVC film specifically designed for exterior applications. Our acrylic overlay is highly UV resistant, meaning your North Star windows will remain attractive for years to come. North Star's color-extrusion process is AAMA certified. Our windows pass stringent weather testing in Florida and Arizona and are proven to meet or exceed the industry's highest standards.

Low e-glass |

 The 'e' stands for emissivity. Two thirds of the total heat loss in a standard window occurs because the warm inner pane of a double-glazed window readily emits heat to the cooler outside pane. North Star builds improved energy efficiency into every window it makes by using only specially treated Low-e glass to disrupt this loss of heat in the winter . . . and the heat gain that occurs in the summer. North Star's Low-e glass is not a tint or a reflective coating, which often reduces the amount of visible light in a house. Our specially applied product keeps heat where it belongs, while ensuring your home remains bright.

Super Spacer |

 North Star windows use Super Spacer® between glass panes to attack fog-ups, reduce noise and boost insulation values by as much as 30%. Super Spacer® warm-edge technology blocks the escape of heat and air-conditioned air at the perimeter of the glass, the area most vulnerable to condensation, heat loss and frosting. Not only can condensation damage frames over time but it can contribute to the unhealthy growth of mould. The advance with Super Spacer® is an all-foam spacer construction than contains no heat-conducting metal. Super Spacer® provides one of the best thermal performances in the industry. |

Extrusions |

 North Star makes its own vinyl extrusions in a quality-controlled, state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. Beginning with only premium compounds to create our vinyl, the AAMA-certified extrusions are then tested and measured on an hourly basis by a computerized system that ensures specifications are always met or exceeded. The multi-chambered vinyl construction will not warp, crack, peel or rot – and it never needs painting. And the corners on all sashes and frames are fusion welded for strength and a perfect seal.

 North Star products feature attractive, long lasting hardware. Hardware quality is critical to the effective functioning of your door or window. For example, our casement windows use Maxim® by Truth Hardware, an ISO 9001 company in operation since1955. Truth is the leading maker of door and window hardware on the continent and all Truth hardware comes with a lifetime warranty. The glide shoes on our sliders are made with an award-winning resin product that sharply reduces wear and friction. North Star puts the same attention into selecting the finest hardware as it does to its own extrusions.

The North Star bow window brings together four or five individual windows to create a pleasing semi-circular projection from a room. The more traditional bay relies on two side windows angled at 30 degrees or 45 degrees and one main window.
